Hi everyone
visited Stanwick at the weekend, as i will be doing my first 24hr session this friday on elsons, firstly i would like to give credit to the baliffs as they were only to helpful and the place is spotless. i use a baitboat as i feel it gives the best presentation and quite fancy the toilet bank for starters, single baits will probably be my plan of attack or a bit of plastic. any advice for that particular bank would be much appreciated.
cheers

hi mate.i would say the far bank, its the area that dosent see much action in the way of anglers.ive just done 3 nights on elsons and most of the carp that was showing was doing so along the far side and all the way down to 'no carp corner' about 10yrds max from the edge.have a good one and let us know how it goes!

yer, they do show around that area quite a bit.i think its to do with not many anglers bivving up on the far bank!!! so its quiter for them.plus its the first place that warms up when the sun comes up,

Im looking at fishing Elsons in March, is there any particular size of boilies work better than others? I fished a lake last year where if you were using 18mm or larger the fishing would be really hard as they are hammered on larger baits 12 or 14 worked better on there. But every lake is different. Any suggestions?

hi mate.size of boillie!!!! for me if the carp like the smell and look of it then they will take it if the bait is in the right place to start of with.i would say 10-15mm size boillies, pop-up or bottom baits would be a good starting point mate.then all you need is confidence in it!!!

cant give you much info m8 cuz ive only dun 9 nites on elsons in all & only had 1 commom out & that was after 90mins on my 1st visit. But some things i have picked up are as follows m8... Its a hard ish water-They dont show themselfs very much so it pays to keep looking "all the time"-Im told the margins fish well in warmer weather-There is a stock of 80 carp wiv 6 over the 30+ mark & loads around the 20+ mark-The far banks dont get fished much & i hav seen a number of carp showing all along that bank down to "No carp corner".Thats about all i can giv u for info,my 1st trip was end of Sep 09.Regards Graham aka dodge
