Hi All,
Although I am new on here, I am not new to Stanwick. I usually fish on Swan and occasionally Mallard, you regulars will know me as the deaf lad with the nosey 11 year old daughter "Holly", who comes along sometimes. Well today( 7/11/12) I am heading down to the lakes for a 24 hour session still undecided on which lake as yet, will see where the action is when I have a walk round. Hope to chat to some of you on the bank and have a cuppa and pick your brains on tactics etc.
Tight Lines

Cheers Dodge, Well I got down there at about 11am, became clear pretty quick that Swan and Mallard were gonna be off limits due to the high water level. Next option was Elsons!! Now I have NEVER fished it and being a relatively new "Carper" was unsure wether I should try my skills on there? Anyway had a walk round to Elsons and saw the bailiff, Phil I think his name is? (doing some tree surgery with the help of "Roxy" :0). He said yeah go for it and pointed me in the direction of next swim up from "The Point", where 2 guys were already camped up, with advice on where to cast to. Had a couple of quick casts to see what weed was like, Got some bait out, boillies out to far bank, sweetcorn and pellets off the sunken tree, and set up my rods. Got the bivvi up then once baited areas settled cast out the rigs. Had lots of activity late afternoon, then BANG off went the familiar sound of a bite alarm, unfortunately it wasn't mine. One of the guys on next swim had hooked into a very nice 32lb'er! :0), I was later told. I on the other hand had plenty of indications and liners to keep me on my toes all night. Yes I blanked, but I will be back on Elson's as soon as I can.

Elsons is the love of life, apart from joss pmsl.
Its a great water mate. I'd fish it with no carp in it, I like it that much.
